Among all of our life skills, having the right attitude is one key area that can have a profound effect on our personal and professional success.

Having a positive outlook on life helps us to tackle our daily tasks with enthusiasm and optimism, no matter how difficult they may be.

By contrast, those who have a negative attitude tend to bring down others around them and create an atmosphere of pessimism and gloom.

Think about it, It’s amazing what a difference someone can make to the atmosphere of a room simply by walking in with a bright smile and an upbeat attitude.

Taking Control Of Your Attitude

The most positive way to start your day is by taking control of your attitude.

For instance, you can choose to be filled with GRATITUDE for all the wonderful things in your life or have a BITTER outlook when presented with challenges.

It’s important to remember that we are in charge of our own attitudes and have the power to choose how we will confront each day.

Even the smallest act of kindness, such as smiling and saying hello to others, can make a lasting impact on our day and those around us.

There are great characteristics that stem from a positive attitude. Let’s recognize, acknowledge, and try to apply them as much as possible in everyday life.

  1. A positive outlook on life. Am I grateful for all that I have, or pessimistic about what I don’t have?
  2. Gratefulness. Being deeply appreciative and thankful for everything we have as blessings from God. This is the opposite of “materialistic”.
  3. Resourcefulness. Being able to figure out solutions to challenges or problems…‘figuring it out. This is the opposite of being “helpless”.
  4. Passion. Strong enthusiasm that fuels your actions. This is the opposite of “apathetic” or “indifferent”.
  5. Humbleness. Not thinking of yourself as being better than others. The opposite of “prideful”.
  6. Encouragement. Giving others support, inspiration, hope, or motivation. The opposite of “criticism”.
